Furniture and Paint Index

Furniture and paint are cosmetic and Index systems in Fruit Forager—not early power spikes. New accounts that blow coins on walls and roofs stall backpack progression. This page explains when décor becomes a smart grind, where Fancy Furnishings restocks, how the Index Furniture/Paint tab works, and which secret pieces collectors still hunt during the content freeze.

Pair with Index Completion, Getting Started, and Plot AFK Farm for placement tips.

When to start furniture grinding

Community progression guides recommend ignoring Fancy Furnishings until roughly level 25+ income (strong Volcano sells or stable Orders). Before that:

  1. Backpack upgrades
  2. Boots / gliders that unlock stations
  3. Ticket printers and Order loops
  4. Tourmaline gear pieces for Zone T

After those pillars, furniture becomes the long Index campaign you run during quiet weeks while FaultyMarkus ships Voxelia instead of Fruit Forager zones.

Fancy Furnishings (Autumn Forest)

Fancy Furnishings sits in the Autumn Forest. Stock rotates on a timer (community reports ~every 10 minutes) with rarities from Common through Legendary. Higher-priced pieces tend to be rarer in the cycle.

Typical categories:

  • Wood and glass blocks, stairs, hedges
  • Couches, tables, display props
  • Legendaries such as Fireplace or Fountain (names vary by restock)
  • Full paint rack plus paint remover

Bring a coin stack and empty inventory—legendary décor can wipe mid-game wallets if you impulse-buy before Tourmaline Boots.

Index Furniture / Paint tab

Update 14+ Index redesigns track furniture and paint separately from fruits. Completing the tab pays tickets and unlocks late cosmetics tied to full Index progress (including Station D podium skins—see Secrets).

Tips:

  • Buy one of each Common/Uncommon early in a restock so the Index ticks without waiting for Legendaries
  • Keep a note of missing paints; removers let you recolor without new purchases sometimes
  • Do not sell Unique fruits to fund couches—Uniques gate Tourmaline Amulet

Secret décor

Desert secret couch

Near the Desert Admin Abuse Zone, community maps describe a secret couch behind a sand-pillar passage with a glitched vending-machine avatar nearby. It is Index/furniture progress, not a Tourmaline gear skip. Visit when you already travel to Desert for Saturday Admin Abuse prep (Admin Abuse).

Station D Index podium

Not furniture from Fancy Furnishings, but Index-complete players unlock a Tourmaline base floor / skin podium in Station D’s hidden tunnel. Finish Furniture, Fruits, Gear, Mutations, and Crates tabs first.

Plot skins vs furniture

Tourmaline Plot Skin and Enchanted Plot Skin arrived with Crates/Enchantments-era cosmetics. They flex Index grinders but do not replace plant pot upgrades. Prioritize Plant Pots and AFK Income before skin shopping if coins are tight.

Restock hunting tips

Fancy Furnishings cycles punish AFK shopping. Sit nearby with inventory space, buy every missing Common/Uncommon the moment it appears, and only contest Legendaries when your Tourmaline Bowl, Boots, Glider, and Amulet are already funded. Co-op friends on five-player servers can call restocks in chat without camping your plot.

If a Legendary you need never appears for an hour, leave, run Orders, and return—the Index does not require finishing Furniture in a single session. Log missing paints on Session Planner notes so Saturday Admin Abuse prep does not erase the list.

During the Voxelia content freeze this tab is one of the few long campaigns that still grows your account without new zones—see Content Freeze Farming.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Where is Fancy Furnishings?

In the Autumn Forest. Stock rotates on a timer; rarer furniture appears less often and costs more coins.

Should beginners buy furniture?

No. Spend early coins on backpacks and zone gear. Start furniture around level 25+ or after Orders are stable.

Does furniture raise fruit sell prices?

No. Furniture is cosmetic and Index progress. Coin power comes from fruits, mutations, pots, and gear.

How do I finish the Paint Index?

Buy each paint color and remover from Fancy Furnishings restocks, then verify the Index Paint tab ticks in-game.

Is the Desert couch required?

Only if you want full Index/furniture completion. It does not unlock Tourmaline gear.
